How do I create new kitchen cabinets?
Ok, I want to paint my cabinets white kitchen cabinets, and add the fixtures. This is possible. I know these arent real wood kitchen cabinets. is it even possible? I want to look bigger and I know the kitchen painting the cabinets would get the job done, and the addition would match schedule, to update them. should I do it? I have this exact kitchen cabinets in a rental I had, and they can be painted. The key is the job properly, they turn out not cheezy. Remove the doors and drawers. Remove All hardware (hinges) and they are, they fall into the same car came from them. I painted black in a hinge device and completely replace it with a internal nature, and filled the holes on the sides in another. If you can spray the doors and drawer fronts, they come with a smoother surface and are less likely to get strokes. Start with Zinsser stain-resistant primer, mine has two layers and let it heal completely before painting. I like it better than Kilz, because it has a smoother surface so that no sand or steel wool tends away brush strokes, which then tends to leave scratches. Now you are ready to paint. I found the small foam rollers were the best coverage, with no marks on the bases. Mine took two more layers of latex. Then I sealed with non-yellowing, UVB / UVA protection of polyurethane for easy cleaning and a lot of abuse because they get in the rent. You can then hardware is a really fresh look.
